Head of User Experience and Design
Maria is Head of User Experience at Digital Disruptions and has over 14 years of experience in UX, service design, and business innovation. At Digital Disruptions, Maria has led design engagements, primarily in Africa and the Middle East, for Mastercard, Financial Sector Deepening, and Vodacom, as well as supporting innovation strategy for the United Nations and Better than Cash Alliance.
Before that, she worked for several design agencies in Brazil and Europe, developing projects for global clients such as HSBC, Santander, and BNP Paribas, including research and development of products such as mobile apps and digital tools. She has also provided training and facilitating workshops in design thinking and co-creation to large bank clients.
Originally from Brazil, Maria is fluent in Portuguese, English and German. She holds an MBA from FGV (Brazil) and a Bachelor Hons in Communication Design from the University of Applied Arts (Germany). She is based in Cape Town, South Africa.
