Head of Credit and Analytics
Marlize has over 20 years’ experience in predictive modelling, advanced analytics, and credit management in consumer and small business lending, of which 13 years’ experience included the building and leading of large quantitative analyst and actuarial specialist teams. At Digital Disruptions she is responsible for the analyzing, design, and launch of a range of digital lending products in Africa and Asia, as well as overseeing the firm’s broader capabilities in analytics.
Prior to joining, Marlize was Chief Risk Officer at Marquis Finance, a vehicle finance start-up that she co-founded in 2019, where she led the Credit, Collections and Legal areas. She has also held the role of Head of Scoring at First National Bank, Head of Innovative Analytics at Standard Bank South Africa, and various quantitative analytics and product management roles within Experian and TransUnion. Notable projects include the end-to-end design and automation of Credit Policy and scorecards for Marquis Finance, the application of AI and ML in the customer management space, development and implementation of AI outbound and inbound campaign models at Standard Bank South Africa, establishment of internal credit bureau and logistic regression modelling approach and framework at First National Bank.
Marlize holds BCom Informatics & BCom (Hons) Statistics degrees from the University of Pretoria and a Certificate in Product Management from the University of Cape Town. She is currently based in Johannesburg, South Africa.
