Financial Inclusion Expert
Ophelia Ama Oni has over 12 years experience in branchless banking, electronic banking, mobile money and financial inclusion. She currently leads Digital Disruptions’ efforts in Ghana and broader West Africa. Previously, she was Head of Strategy and Business Development for the Inclusive Banking department of Fidelity Bank Ghana with the role of pursuing its financial inclusion agenda, where she was also responsible for product development, financial literacy, sales and marketing for Inclusive Banking.
She also had previous roles at Fidelity as Product Support Manager for Transaction Banking with the responsibility for rolling out VISA cards, Internet Banking, Bill Payments, Ezwich cards and MTN Mobile Money, as well as Branch Operations Supervisor, where she was responsible for processing client transfer instructions, salary processing and customer enquiries.
Ophelia holds an MBA in Project Management from Colorado Technical University and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Mercer University, both in the US. She is a founding member of the Financial Inclusion Forum Africa (with over 800 embers) and was selected as one of the top 25 Most Influential Fintech Leaders in Ghana in 2019. A Ghanaian national, Ophelia is based in Accra and is fluent in English, Twi and Fante.
